Condition
The painting is cooler in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The relined canvas is offered unframed. The paint surface is under a dirty varnish and appears thinner in the sky than in the rest of the work, suggesting that it was more thinly painted. Otherwise the vibrancy and impasto of the paint remains. UV light reveals scattered non-obtrusive retouchings. A new varnish would greatly improve the tonality.
