The painting is more yellow than the catalogue illustration suggests. The signed canvas has been relined. To the naked eye. under the discoloured varnish, the canvas appears in good condition with no major damages. The impasto is well preserved, especially along the edge of the blue cloth. Some infilled losses are present along the white table cloth. Discoloured scattered retouchings can be made out in the blue cloth. The thick glossy varnish impedes satisfactory inspection though old retouchings do flouresce. A new varnish and a clean would greatly improve the tonality of the picture which otherwise appears in good condition. Offered in an elaborate carved and painted frame with a velvet lining.
