The painting is slightly cooler in tone than the catalogue illustration. The canvas has an old effective relining. The paint surface is secure and under a dirty varnish. Patches of discoloured retouchings can be made out centre left, upper left and in the hair lower right. Some strengthenings can be seen under UV light in the face, neck and shirt. The painting would benefit from a clean and a new varnish. Offered in a carved gilt wood frame in good condition.
