Condition

Old glue relining is firm and stable. under a dirty and discolored old varnish. the background area is generally thin and abraded. the figure of the dog is better preserved, though there are some thinnesses in some areas such as his paws and back leg. there is an overall fine craquelure pattern. despite this, the figure of the dog still reads very well and presents a strong image. two old retouches visible to naked eye in dog's hind quarters. under UV: can't see through the old dirty varnish. In a gilt wood frame with nicks and losses.
