Condition

Panel has been cradled. under a dull varnish. there is generally very good preservation of the paint surface with nice detail in architecture and figures. a central horizontal panel join is slightly visible to naked eye. ultraviolet light reveals retouching all along join, running through buildings at left, through roof of building at center and through buildings at right side. some tiny retouches scattered in sky, many along grain of wood. some larger retouches in sky at upper right. a few retouches can be seen in foreground with some reinforcements of some of the blacks, but most of the architecture and figures look good. In a faux ebony wood frame with gilt inner edges; numerous nicks.
