depicting in multicolored tesserae a fish and a sea monster with canine forequarters, a serrated border below.
Provenance
acquired in 1969 by the present owner from Asfar Bros., Hotel St. George, Beirut [inv. no. 19]
Condition
Tesserae set in heavy modern concrete slab, a few isolated tesserae missing, some possibly replaced (in body of fish?), surface with grout stains overall and partially covered with waxy substance which enhances colors but has turned yellow overtime
