  • A Marble Base and Candelabrum Shaft with Relief Decoration
  • 11 by 11 by 5 1/2 and 23 in. 30 by 30 by 14 and 58.4 cm.
comprising a square base decorated with overlapping acanthus leaves radiating down from a central dowel hole for insertion of a shaft, and a tapering candelabrum shaft carved in relief in the lower register with scrolling vegetation and in the upper with an oak branch bearing acorns and another plant with clusters of berries, birds in the foliage.

Condition

Base: leaves chipped on three corners, surface somewhat worn and very dirty. Shaft: repaired above the middle and across the top, top partially burned. ornamentation worn, chipped, and encrusted overall.
