Condition
Panel is cradled. under a yellowed varnish. scuffing along top edge from rubbing of frame. the paint surface has been generally well retained with nice detail in figures and costumes. areas with underdrawing can be seen on a number of the figures. ultraviolet light reveals reinforcement of some of the darker pigments such as in the headdress and costume of the rabbi and the headdress of the woman at far right side. some other areas of retouching scattered here and there, with a larger area on lower part of green costume of figure at far left. there may be other older retouches, but hard to see through the old varnish.
In a plain gilt wood frame with numerous nicks.
