Condition
The colours are a little more yellow in tone than they appear in the catalogue illustration.
The canvas has a recent strip lining.
The paint surface is secure and clean under a glossy varnish. There are some areas of wear in the darker blues of her cloak and in some of the darks of the background. There are two vertical damages which have been patched to the reverse, one approx 4cm long lower right of the mirror and the second approx 10 cm long running from her left ear down to a 5 by 5 cm patch of repaint in her chest.
Inspection under UV light reveals retouching work to the aforementioned abraded areas and the two damages as well as minor other scatterd retouchings in her dress and skin tones.
Offered in a carved gilt wood frame structurally sound but a little rubbed.
