Condition
The actual painting is more subdued and less red in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
The single panel has a repaired vertical crack which is reinforced to the reverse with four battons. The panel is lightly bevelled on all but the left sides. The paint surface is in fair condition and is under a very dirty varnish layer. Tiny scattered discoloured retouchings can be observed in the sky and in the group of figures on the right. Inspection under UV light reveals additional strengthening of the figures.
Offered in a decorative wood and plaster gilt frame in good condition.
