Description

  • Justus Juncker
  • An interior with a pawn broker and an elderly lady
  • oil on panel

Condition

The actual painting is slightly softer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The panel seems to consist of two planks joined vertically and is bevelled to all sides. The panel is sound. The paint surface is under a very shiny and slightly yellowed varnish. The paint layer appears in good condition. Retouching can be observed along the join, in the background centre right, in the lower foreground left. Inspection under UV light remains inconclusive due to the dirty varnish. Offered in a decorative gilt plaster and wood frame in good condition.
