Literature

Condition

The actual painting is warmer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The panel consists of two planks joined horizontally and is in good condition. The paint surface is under a dull varnish and there's some surface dirt. No damages are apparent, but the paint surface is abraded throughout, and subsequent scattered retouchings are visible to the naked eye. Under UV light more extensive retouchings are revealed. Offered in a decorative gilt and plaster wood frame.
