Provenance
With J.O. Leegenhoek, Paris, where bought in the 1970s by the family of the present owner.
Condition
The actual painting is a little softer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
The canvas has an effective relining (wax). The paint surface is under a reasonably clear varnish. Some scattered retouchings are visible to the naked eye, more frequently in the background and sky. Under UV light the paint surface looks substantially restored.
Offered in a decorative gilt wood and plaster frame in fair condition.
