Condition
The actual painting is softer and less red in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The single panel is flat and stable and unbeveled. Two horizontal strips have been attached to the reverse for no obvious reasons. No damages are apparent. The paint surface appears to be very well preserved and is under a dull and dirty layer of varnish. There's a very tiny retouched spot of paint loss in the figure's nose, and another one along the right edge. Inspection under UV light is impeded by the dirty varnish layer.
Offered in a decorative gilt wood frame in good condition. (MW)
