Description
- C.W. Schut
- Shipping on the Maas with a view on Dordrecht
- oil on panel
Condition
The actual painting is a little more blue in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The panel seems to consist of two horizontal planks, of which the lower appears to have split. Both join and split have been reenforced to the reverse with battons. The paint layer is secure, if a little abraded in some areas. Some small scattered retouchings and strengthenings can be observed in the sky and boats. Under UV light the paint surface is more substantially restored. (MW)
