Condition
Both paintings are less blue and more greenish-yellow in tone than the catalogue illustrations suggest. Both single panels are flat and stable and beveled on all sides. In the upper painting two small pin point paint losses are visible centre left, and in the lower painting a few very tiny paint losses can be observed along the lower edge. Otherwise, in both paintings no damages seem to be apparent. The paint layers are very well preserved and under a very dirty and yellowed varnish layer. Inspection under UV light remains inconclusive due to the dirty varnish layer, but there is possibly some minor strengthening of the figures underneath.
Offered in decorative gilt plaster and wood frames, with a few paint losses. (MW)
