Ad un primo esame si notano 4 piccoli forellini agli angoli probabilmente dovuti a puntine usate dall’artista stesso. L’esame alla lampada di wood mostra una vernice fluorescente sparsa disomogeneamente sulla superficie. Si evidenziano delle integrazioni pittoriche lungo il bordo superiore sinistro e ai rispettivi angoli, dovuti probabilmente all’usura causata dalla battitura della cornice. E’ visibile un ritocco di cm 1,5 x 1,5 sul bordo destro a confine tra cielo e montagne. Un piccola toppa posta sul retro verso il bordo superiore a sinistra va a coprire una lieve lacerazione di circa cm 2. Si consiglia una lieve pulitura. L’opera si presenta in uno stato di conservazione molto buono. From a first hand inspection 4 small holes are visible in the corner, probaly due to push-pins. The ultra violet light reveals fluorescent varnish spread over the surface. There are retouches along the top edge and corners due losses caused by the frame. There is a retouch (cm 1.5 x 1.5) along the right hand edge near the sky and mountain. A patch on the reversenear the top left hand side edge covers a small scratch (cm 2). A careful cleansing is suggested. The overall condition as to the state of preservation is very good.

Uno degli ultimi esponenti del movimento Divisionista, Alfredo Prosa fu attratto principalmente dalla "maniera" di Segantini, Fornara e soprattutto Barabino, suo coetaneo. Estate fa parte di una serie di soggetti dedicati al lavoro nei campi come Primavera, che entrò a far parte delle collezioni dell'Accademia nel 1925, al termine della Mostra Nazionale di Belle Arti di Brera. Le due opere propongono una struttura e un'impaginazione molto vicine.
