Description
- The flight into Egypt
- oil on panel
Condition
The support consists of a single unframed panel with a slight convex bow.
The paint surface is secure and under a thick dirty varnish. The colours are brighter in the original than they appear in the catalogue illustration.
There are some very minor knocks along the edge of the paint surface in particular upper right.
There are two raised knots in the wood surface of the panel lower right which are visible to the naked eye but completely covered by the paint surface.
Thorough inspection under UV light is impedeed by the varnish but scattered areas of old retouching do fluoresce, most notably in the central figure group.
