The support consists of two pieces of canvas vertically joined together approx 10 cm from the left hand edge. There is a recent relining which has not unduly flattened the paint surface. The canvas in the top right corner is slightly crumpled. The paint surface is secure with some very minor scattered paint losses and craquelure visible throughout. Old discoloured retouching is visible along the canvas join and although inspection under UV light is impedeed by the thick glossy varnish further scattered retouchings can be identified. Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame with some minor knocks.
