Follower of The Master of the Parrot

The panel is cradled and flat. The painting has been recently cleaned and revarnished. There is a thin line of restoration that runs the length of the panel join, vertically through the virgin's right cheek. Her right cheek has in fact been extensively retouched, and further more minor scattered retouchings are to be found on the left hand side of Christ's head and his legs. There is some abrasion to the background. The painting is ready to hang. Offered with an old ebony and veneer frame in good condition.

The composition follows the original design by The Master of the Parrot, currently in a Private Collection, Barcelona (see Archivo Espanol, 1984, no. 227, p. 263).
