Condition
The actual painting is warmer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The panel seems to consist of two horizontal panels, and is cradled. The paint surface is secure and is under a clear layer of varnish. Inspection under UV light reveals a horizontal repaired and retouched crack running from the left edge in the lower left corner. Retouchings along the join and some additional small scattered ones can be made out under UV light, e.g. to the lower right, in the sky and in the house on the right.
Offered in a gilt wood frame in good condition. (MW)
