Condition
The actual painting is deeper in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The single panel is sound and beveled on all sides. No major damages are apparent. There's some minor frame abrasion along the edges. The paint surface is in fair condition, if abraded in the darker areas, as is clearly visible in the catalogue illustration. The paint surface is under a slightly dirty layer of varnish. Tiny scattered discoloured retouchings can be observed, e.g. in the background left, in the dress and in the black curtain, which is confirmed by inspection under UV light. (MW)
