Description

  • An allegory with two putti binding a satyr
  • oil on canvas

Condition

The canvas has been relined. There are two damages patched to the reverse. One vertical one top centre approx 15 cm long and a second upper right approx 5 cm squared. The paint surface is secure and under a dirty glossy varnish. Scattered retouchings are visible to the naked eye, most notably in the patched areas and these are confirmed under UV light which reveals further areas of repaint. Offered in a wood and plaster gilt frame.
