Condition
Generally colours quite fresh, remains of the original grey mount with black framing lines which has been cropped. Some foxing visible from the verso coming through, more noticeable in the area of the sky. In places it looks touched up with white heightening. Some surface dirt but in general the colours are still fresh. Framed in a gold and carved wooden reproduction frame.

Simone Pomardi specialized in watercolor views of Rome such as this one and also in architectural drawings. One of his views of the Roman Forum was engraved around 1830 by Francesco Morelli.
