Condition

The thin panel is split in four planks held together by cradling. The cracks have traces of old restoration but the paneol has continued to split, forming more horizontal cracks. An attempted cleaning has left the varnish spotty and milky-white in some areas, which can be remedied by another cleaning. The pigments seem to be fairly solid under the varnish. Overall, the painting appears very dark and dirty and with a few chips along the panel. Under UV light: some dark areas have been repainted.
