Description
Comprising: a clip and a pair of ear clips of stylised floral and fruit design, set with circular-, single-cut and baguette diamonds, highlighted with carved leaf cabochon rubies, signed Horovitz - Alexandrie, case stamped W. Horovitz, 26 rue Cherif Pacha, Alexandrie.
Condition
Ruby of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece may contain ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin will be required before import of jadeite or ruby into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information.
Metal tested as platinum and gold. Signed Horovitz - Alexandrie on the brooch. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 5.20 carats in total, H-J colour, SI clarity (a few I). Rubies overall well matched, with typical crystal inclusions (some surface reaching), some stone with minor abrasion. Stem slightly loose. Signs of wear commensurate to wear and age. In good condition.

Wolf Horovitz was one of the leading Egyptian jewellers, based on rue Chérif Pacha in Alexandria, who catered to the local élite clientele and the Royal Courts of King Fouad I and King Farouk I. Some of them had part of their production made in Paris workshops.
