Condition
(This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Conservation, Inc.)
This painting on canvas-board has been recently restored and should be hung as is.
Under ultraviolet light some areas read very unevenly, for instance the dark grey surround on all four sides, but it is unclear whether this unevenness results from retouching or further repainting by the artist. On the outside of the first light rectangle there are a few cosmetic retouches and a few other spots within the construction, particularly in the lower right. Some of these repaints, which could possibly be original, are slightly mismatched however it would be inappropriate to reexamine these areas without further research. The picture should be hung as is.
