Condition

The painting has been recently relined and cleaned. However, there is some light yellowing due to varnish oxidation in the upper right area of the painting, and slight overall craquelure. Under ultraviolet light, there appears to be inpainting in several areas, especially in the sky inn the upper right corner, and partially in the facade of the church. There is additional inpainting and restoration to the left side of the canvas which indicates that there might have been a tear at some point. However due to the relining, it is only visible as a continuous line that starts on the upper left side and crosses a large section until it ends in the middle of the work. The main groups of figures present little inpainting, not affecting any of the faces. The lower border also has extensive inpainting which covers much of the signature. Very small bits of what might have been the original signature may be visible underneath the retouches. Overall in stable condition.
