There is buckling to the upper left and right corners. The surface is heavily varnished and under ultraviolet light it appears to be slightly opaque. There is evidence of possible inpainting along the bottom of the canvas. There is a 2 ½ in. horizontal line of retouching 5 in. from the bottom edge and 7 in. from the left edge. There is an area below this that could be retouching measuring ¾ by ¾ in. There are a few very small spots in the background at the center of the work. The reverse of this canvas appears to have been reinforced with a layer of paint. Otherwise in stable condition.
