Condition
The sculpture is in good condition. The sculpture displays an opaque dark brown patina that is in good condition. The sculpture is clean and bears a fresh wax coating. Minor spots of white investment products can be seen on the surface along a horizontal casting crack on the face of the top element. The crack is inherent to the artwork as a result of porosity in the cast. Investment products appear white and crusty and are part of the casting process. Often they appear in tiny pinholes found in porous casts that have not been thoroughly cleaned of the material after the sculpture had been cast. Investment products can be easily removed with a bamboo skewer. The procedure should be repeated if the white crusty spots reappear. The sculpture is structurally sound. No physical damage was evident on the surface.
