Condition
Watercolor on paper heightened with gold and white. Minor staining throughout, especially along right edge. Otherwise work appears to be in good overall condition. Colors of original deeper and richer than in catalogue illustration.

This watercolor was possibly the study for a lithograph that was widely reproduced in various publications including Bibliotèque Universelle, Voyages en Asie, 1836. The portrait is likely to have been painted during Ranjit Singh's lifetime.
