Condition
Fairly good overall condition. Some crease marks to the sky at the top. Abrasion to red folio border. Folio borders are frayed with small tears at the corners. A few minor abrasions to white pigment on image. A small hole at the lower left corner of the image has been closed with backing paper on reverse. Inscribed in Devanagari on verso. Unframed.

Gauri Ragini takes the form of a lady offering a garland at a Krishna shrine, accompanied by musicians. Compare with two other illustrations Gauri Ragini, depicting of ladies bearing garlands belonging to an earlier Ragamala series from Malwa, see Klaus Ebeling, Ragamala Painting, Basel, Paris and New Delhi, 1973, p. 260, nos. 257 & 258.
