Condition

Excellent condition. The colors are vibrant and there is no indication that the pastel has undergone any alteration in hue. The sheet has not undergone any apparent color alteration and reads as a white color. There are no tears, losses or evidence of any restoration. There is some minor flaking in the green hair on the left where the pastel layer has been very heavily applied. The sheet undulates in a series of gentle, horizontal waves which results from the relatively close placement of the hinges and does not appear to require conservation. This work is in excellent condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
