Condition
One of the perspex grooves at the lower end of the central spine appears to have been lost. There are also a few grooves at either end without any nylon monofilament, although this is possibly intrinsic to the original work. Apart from a few minor scuffs and marks to the base, this work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note
'we do not measure our works in yards of beauty, we do not weigh them in pounds of tenderness and mood...With a plumb line in the hand, with eyes as precise as a ruler, with a spirit as taut as a compass, we build them in the same way as the universe builds its own creations, as the engineer his bridges, as the mathematician his formulae of the orbits'
Naum Gabo, The Realistic Manifesto, 1920
