Description

the circular base rising to a stem with a cushion knop, supporting a hexagonal receptical for the Host engraved on all sides with the symbols of the four Evangelists, the Veronica veil, and a hand raised in blessing, the hinged cover in the form of a steeple, painted with the number 6586 in red on the underside and in ink on the inside of the cover.

Condition

Some wear and dents. Finial lacking. The pin to fix the closure on the lid is lacking. There is a cut to the stem just below the vessel. Possible restorations and modifications to stem. There are some cracks and tears to part of the stem and metal along the edge of the foot, and on the upper part of the central knop. A horizontal pin has been added to the lower section of the stem.
