Description

of cylindrical form with hinged conical lid, with gilt foliate scrolls on powder blue ground interspersed with medallions inscribed IHS on white ground,  probably once with a cross surmounting the lid, now lacking, the interior with a recessed lip, the floor inside engraved with IHS medallion.

Condition

Losses to enamel throughout, especially on lower section. Old lead repairs at two junctures of upper rim of lower section and on hinge. Gilding rubbed. Casting crack to underside. Cross finial lacking.
