Condition

The flower finial to the lid has evidence of yellow painting which has since chiped in areas. There is a very minor chip to the border of the lid, however this is not visible as it is on the inside and covered by the ormolu boder. Mosf of the polychrome flowers have been redecorated with polychrome paint, with the exception of the underglaze blue pieces, which appear to be later replacements. The arrow case and foot of the left putto are restorations, and the left hand of the right putto has suffered some losses to the fingers as well as undergone some minor restorations as visible from the catalogue illustration. There is some general minor pitting and small traces of oxidation to the ormolu, consistent with age. In otherwise good condition.
