  • shaped rectangular form, decorated in silver piqué point with butterflies and birds flanking conjoined hearts within leafy scrolls, applied openwork silver mounts, hinges and keyplate

  • Long. 30 cm ; 12 in
forme rectangulaire mouvementée, décor en piqué point d'argent de papillons et d'oiseaux, au centre deux coeurs accolés entourés de rinceaux feuillagés, montures, charnières et rouet de serrure en argent ajourés

Condition

Small portions of applied silver openwork on front corners of lid lacking. A few cracks to tortoiseshell and side corner panels and left back lid section replaced with plain tortoiseshell but otherwise piqué in very good condition . Later lined with red moiré silk.
