- the Emperor wearing uniform with orders including the Grand Croix of the Légion d'honneur, by Maxime David (1798-1870), signed, cracked, within a rose diamond frame, the lid, sides and base decorated with engraved strapwork on black and translucent green enamel grounds, applied husk thumbpiece, rim numbered: 26

l'empereur paré de son uniforme avec ses insignes dont la Grande Croix de la Légion d'Honneur, par Maxime David (1798-1810), signé, craqué, ceint d'une frise de diamants taillés en rose, le couvercle, la bâte et le dessous ornés de lambrequins ciselés sur un fond émaillé de noir et de vert translucide, orné d'un fermoir décoré de fleurs, la bordure numérotée 26
Condition
As indicated in the catalogue, the miniature has a crack in the centre from the base to the subject's brow; the miniature is also faded and has mould flakes overall. The box has scraped green enamel at corners and on lid at very edge of left upper side. Also scratching to enamels and small scrape to black enamel on base;
