- Boite à musique en or et émail par Alexandre Magnin, Genève, vers 1820
Alexandre Magnin, bijoutier, fils de François Magnin et de Jeanne François Girod, naquit à Genève en 1786. Il utilisa son poinçon pour la première fois vers 1812 mais l'insculpa de nouveau (enregistré par erreur sous le nom d'André) le 23 novembre 1815. Il mourut tôt, en 1830, et c'est sa veuve Noée Fanely Gentil qui reprit son atelier au 45 rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, avec leur fils aîné Charles, qui fut le dernier orfèvre genevois spécialiste des boîtes en or.
