Description

seat rail to one stamped II, the other stamped V and with a scratched inscription B.F. 1/14/64.  Each stamped B521 to underside of front rail.

Condition

Overall very good restored condition; the first with two small old repaired breaks to the center of the cresting rail at the join with the splat; small chip to one carved rocaille tip of cresting rail; gadrooned molding to shoe possibly replaced; corner blocks replaced; 5 ¾ -inch section to the cockbeading to front right apron replaced; side brackets possibly replaced; front left bracket with an old repaired break. The other chair with a small crack to top left corner of cresting rail and with a very minor old repaired break to the center of the cresting rail at one join with pierced splat; minor old repaired break to lower left corner carving of pierced splat; old repaired break at join of H cross stretcher with right side stretcher now with two screws and a long replaced section to the right side stretcher; left stretcher now with plugs at join with cross stretcher; right side bracket replaced.
