Description

  • eight 27 in.; width 37 1/4 in.; width open 4 ft. 9 1/2 in.; depth 24 3/4 in.
  • 68.6 cm; 94.6 cm; 146.1 cm; 62.9 cm
fitted with a pair of frieze drawers opposed by a pair of dummy drawers.

Condition

Overall fair restored condition; the top re-finished and with warpage, the underside of the top channeled to correct warpage and with later braces and a corner block to stabilize warpage; the center of the top with a thin long strip of veneer possibly replacing a section; small patches to the banding; the flaps with bowing and slight warpage; the cross-bandings with some small chips and patches; age cracks to the veneers of the edge and with some small patches and inpainting; drawer bottoms with old age cracks; the right drawer with a patch to the right of the key-hole; small chips, losses and replacements with inpainting to the ebonized bandings of the drawer fronts; right trestle support with a square patch beneath the join with the stretcher; front right and back right downswept legs with old repaired breaks and with supports to the undersides and with some veneer patches; overall with some old marks, scratches and scuffs.
