- Signed MARTIN STAINFORTH (lower left); titled and dated 1934 (lower right); inscribed with King George V's crest (lower right); bears inscription "Limelight" in stable yard with kitten. Originally painted as a miniature for King George V / Very rare item/ Winner of the Prince of Wales nursery at Doncaster the Jersey Stakes at Ascot - and as a 4 year old Limelight won the Newbury spring Cup - The ... Stakes at Ascot and the Duke of York Stakes at Kempton. In the 3 seasons Limelight won close on £9000 in stakes (on label on reverse)
