This sculpture exists in the form of two plasters (Musée Rodin, Paris), two casts by Alexis Rudier (1931 and 1945, Musée Faure, Aix-les-Bains) and in a series of 10 casts (of which the present work is one) by Georges Rudier, issued by the Musée Rodin between 1966 and 1980.
Baigneuse aux sandales is one of a group of four terracotta figures of disrobing women that dates from 1898. The bathers were originally designed to stand in niches around the swimming pool at the villa of of Maurice Fenaille, in Neuilly.
