Chromolithograph by J. Bien, 1860, on wove paper, with margins, generally in good condition apart from light-stain throughout, the sheet edges with four repaired tears, pale discoloration and remains of adhesive, framed

Condition

The overall paper tone is darkened by exposure to light and the colors have attenuated slightly as a result. There are two tears at left and two at right, the longest measures 2 1/2 inches in the left margin. Time stain, and light soiling along the sheet edges, and a pale damp stain at lower left corner. Remaining adhesive comprises linen tape along upper sheet edge, brown paper tape at lower right sheet edge, and a few spots of glue primarily in the right margin.
