Description
- diameter 14 3/4 in.
- 37.5 cm
the interior well decorated with a large central medallion enclosing a basket containing a bouquet of flowers, the base with an artemesia leaf. Together with a famille-verte dish painted with five cartouches featuring lakeside scenes, the central cartouche with a calligraphic poem, Kangxi period. Fritting and chips to the rim. 2 pieces.
Condition
The floral basket dish: Fritting around the rim, with a 3 cm long area of shallow nibbles, with other shallow chips. The interior with slight surface scratches to the enamel, and pinholes on the central medallion. Tiny nibbles on the foot rim, and pinpricks on the base. In otherwise good condition.
The landscape dish: In good overall condition. There is a glaze crack diagonally across the top-left corner of the central cartouche, approximately 10 cm. A firing flaw to the interior of the well, barely noticeable. The base with a 12 cm glaze crack.
The landscape dish has some restoration and overspray around the rim edge, presumably covering small rim chips or haircracks. The restoration does not appear to extend past the diaper pattern border, however it is well done and it is impossible to see the extent of the original damage.
