Catalogue Note

These wagons were made by several companies (Brown, Fallows) in the second half of the 19th century in different sizes and designs.  According to Bernard Barenholtz, American Antique Toys 1830-1900 (New York, Harry N. Abrams, Inc., 1980), this confectionery model is one of the earliest designs. For comparisons, see Barenholtz, pp. 260, 263, 265.
