Description

  • Width 15 3/4 in.
each supported on a flared foot, the facets gilt and painted in iron-red and underglaze-blue with lush arrays of flowering plants, featuring two pheasants upon rockwork, the flattened rim designed with alternating ruyi-head and floral sprig panels reserved against an iron-red wan-diaper ground. Minor, shallow chips to the rim.

Condition

Both in good overall condition. One with fritting around the rim and small areas of the foot. Scattered firing flaws along the interior and minor firing flaws underneath the rim on the exterior. One spot of kiln grit on the everted rim. The other with less fritting around the rim, though some areas of the iron-red rubbed. One small firing flaw on the foot near the pierced aperture.
