the spot-hammered surface applied with a mokume butterfly, a copper and gold dragonfly and spider, the foot applied with two gold maple seed pods and a copper bug, body also applied with trailing wisteria and maple sprays, engraved underneath with slightly later inscription, marked on base with maker's name and numbered 5529-990 "Sterling Silver and Other Metals 535", also with french control mark
