Condition

Overall in very good condition. The oak surfaces of the base appear to retain their original finish, with minimal gentle wear (a few light surface scratches and abrasions) and some minor surface soiling along the recessed contours. There are a few tight stable stress fractures to the base, inherent in the natural expansion and contraction of the wood. All of the components of the lamp (willow shade, socket cluster, pull chains, wheel and finial) appear to be original and undisturbed. The willow shade is in very good condition, with one small break and loss to the central horizontal interwoven banding (approximately 1 inch long) on the top plane of the shade, and a few very small and minor losses to the wrapped willow banding on the side register of the shade. The interior silk shade liner is replaced, with some surface soiling in the recessed contours of the folds. The hand-hammered copper finial with some light surface scratches, rubbing to the patina, surface soiling and minor discoloration consistent with age and use. The lamp presents beautifully in person and has great presence and scale. A superb example of this rare model in remarkably original condition.
